Women keep kumkum bindi on their forehead. Traditionally, the area between the eyebrows (where the bindi is placed) is said to be the sixth chakra, ajna, the seat of "concealed wisdom". The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration. The bindi also represents the third eye (Courtesy: Wikipedia).

                 हस्त ग्रास (Eating with hands)
Eating with hands feeds not only the body but also mind and soul. Our hands and feet are said to be the conduits of the five elements. The Ayurvedic texts teach that each finger is an extension of one of the five elements. The thumb is agni (fire) -- you might have seen children sucking their thumb, this is nature's way of aiding the digestion at an age when they are unable to chew; the forefinger is vayu (air), the middle finger is akash (ether -- the tiny intercellular spaces in the human body), the ring finger is prithvi (earth) and the little finger is jal (water) (courtesy NDTV Food).

गोमूत्र (Cow urine)
Hindus consider drinking cow urine to cure various illnesses. Apparently, it does balance bile, mucous and airs and a remover of heart diseases and effect of poison.

                चरणस्पर्श (Pranama)
The right way of touching one’s feet: Bend the upper half of your body, ideally without bending your knees, and stretch both your arms – with your head between them – to touch the feet of the elder. Obvious that it is, the fingertips of your left hand should touch the right foot of the elder and your right hand should be on their left foot. The elder person should now touch the top of your head with their right hand. The nerves that start from our brain spread across all your body. These nerves or wires end in the fingertips of your hand and feet. When you join the fingertips of your hand to those of their opposite feet, a circuit is immediately formed and the energies of two bodies are connected. Your fingers and palms become the ‘receptor’ of energy and the feet of other person become the ‘giver’ of energy.

Usually, the person of whose feet you are touching is either old or pious. When they accept your respect which came from your reduced ego (and is called your shraddha) their hearts emit positive thoughts and energy (which is called their karuna) which reaches you through their hands and toes.

               चिताग्नि (Cremation)
Cremation or burning the dead, is one of the cleanest form of disposing off the dead body.

Also soil in India is wet type and have more water in it. If dead bodies are buried under soil, the bio degradation take place and body fluids come out. Since the soil is wet enough, it is very much sure that those fluids will mix up with the water in soil and hence the drinking sources like wells and rivers will get polluted. This will lead to diseases.

                ॐ (Om)
Chanting the mantra ‘Om’ leads to significant reduction in heart rate which leads to a deep form of relaxation with increased alertness.

                शंख (Conch shell)
The ‘Shankh Dhwani’ creates the sound waves by which many harmful germs, insects are destroyed. The mosquito breeding is also affected by Shankh blowing and decreases the spread of malaria.

There are many more traditions and rituals with very strong scientific reasons behind them.

My world today

My world today is just a reflection of My past. What I do today will mirror My future. My actions create My future. What I am experiencing right now is what karma wants me to experience. Every feeling, every thought, has been prepared especially for  me...so I  can learn from My past. I can’t escape from my past, but i can learn from it. This will change my future. It is the law of cause and effect, an unbreakable law of the cosmos.I deserve everything that happens to me, good or bad. I create my happiness and my misery. One day i will be in the same circumstances I put someone else in. He deliberately harmed me.. my heart,, my feelings . your  intentions were bad. It is intention that creates karma. Good intentions will always create “good karma”. He  can hide his intentions from others but not from himself or the universe. You are a small cog within many other cogs. When you move, you move all the other cogs. You may be powerful or weak today but your de...

Amazing Objects Found Frozen In Ice

Scientists have found many things buried and preserved in ice. Some of these things are stranger than others. And some of them are so bizarre, they truly baffle the mind. While many of these findings are typically woolly creatures, primed and ready for the arctic environment, others are inexplicably weird. Here are a few of the more choice, mysterious, and enthralling findings scientists discovered in the icy worlds of the deep north and south. Prepare yourself.   1. Frozen lighthouse Sometimes the cold gets so bad as to freeze the surrounding architecture. This is actually a common occurrence in Michigan, surprisingly enough. This particular lighthouse is one such entity to succumb to the cold, and oh man did it succumb. Its spiral staircase is clearly frozen, and presumably unmanned. Earth Form If someone actually had to bear this awful cold, you can assume it ...

Backstabbing friends

I don't know about you guys but I've experienced a lot of back-stabbings in my life. It is really hard to overcome the feeling of betrayal  after being back stabbed  by your best friend. It crushes your heart and some times it's far more hurtful than breaking up with your girlfriend or boyfriend. A friend is a person you trust. A person who can know all of your flaws and still care about you, some one who can be trusted with your secrets. But what happens when that friend go behind your back and start talking shit about you?     I suspect I’m not alone in feeling betrayed in this slow, insidious way. Have you lost a friendship  because the other just quit caring for the friendship? How angry were you when you found out that your best friend betrayed you? What did you do after that? Are you still friends with that person? Well in my case my problem was that I trusted my friend too much. I remember when I was ...

Girls and makeup....analysis of the relation

Do girls use make up to be more confident about their image ? to be attractive to the opposite sex ? to steal the spotlight from the others of the same sex?      well you can say that girls use make up for all these reasons          I myself use makeup. I used to be very shy and awkward in front of other people. It was really heard for me to even talk to someone. I was that way because of some lame childhood trauma. When i was really small I looked like a boy and my skin color was very dark. But all the girls in my class had fair skin long hair and rosy cheeks. So as a kid i was always made fun of. So it was registered in my mind that I m ugly and no one wanted to talk to me. ( **I know its kind of childish right... but I swear it affected me  a lot**) anyway once I started using makeup it instantly boosted my confidence. I was becoming less and less awkward in the society. So I kept on using makeup  and in my ca...
